Fees

Assessment Screening Fee:  All consumers entering SATOP must pay a $126 assessment screening fee at the time of their appointment.

Supplemental FeeAll consumers entering SATOP must pay a $145 supplemental fee at the time of their assessment.  This fee is deposited into the Mental Health Earnings Fund.  Money. These funds are used to purchase intensive services for repeat and persistent DWI offenders who are unable to afford them.

 

These fees ($271 total) are due at the time of the assessment screening.

*Consumers referred to the WIP, CIP,YCIP, or state contracted traditional treatment may complete a financial questionaire called the Standard Means Test.  The findings will determine if the consumer will recieve financial assistance with the payment of their program fee. These fees are a base rate and may vary upon actual services rendered.


SATOP Procedure

Step One:  Assessment Screening Process

Offender Management Unit (OMU): 
Missouri law requires all persons arrested for an alcohol- or drug-related traffic offense to complete Magnify glass.an assessment screening at an OMU.  The result of this evaluation determines the appropriate level of placement for each consumer.

Step Two:  SATOP Service Levels

Offender Education Program (OEP):  A 10-hour education course designed for lower risk consumers in understanding the choices they made that led to their intoxication and arrest.

Adolescent Diversion Education Program (ADEP):  A 10-hour education course for minors who may have received Abuse and Lose, Minor in Possession, or Zero Tolerance offenses.

Weekend Intervention Program (WIP):  A 20-hour level of service designed for repeat or high risk consumers using intensive education and counseling intervention methods over a weekend of structured activities. This program is conducted in a restrictive environment.

Clinical Intervention Program (CIP):  A 50-hour outpatient counseling program consisting of individual counseling, group counseling, and group education.  Ten hours must address impaired driving issues.

Youth Clinical Intervention Program (YCIP):  A 25-hour program for minors who have been identified as having serious problems with substance abuse.

Traditional Treatment:  Consumers presenting for SATOP services having multiple alcohol- or drug-related traffic offenses, or those at a high risk for chemical dependency, may receive a recommendation for more traditional substance abuse treatment.  This treatment may be in the form of a residential or outpatient program but must be completed at a state-certified or nationally accredited substance abuse treatment provider.  For more information about these types of programs, you may contact any Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse District Office or search the Treatment Provider Directory or Treatment Facility Locator.
