Missouri Developmental Disability Resource Center
The Missouri Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (MODDRC) is an information and referral service located at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Institute for Human Development, a University Affiliated Program, and funded by the Missouri Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities. The MODDRC can help locate needed services and obtain materials on a variety of topics related to developmental disabilities and low incidence disabilities.

The Schiefelbusch Institute for Life Span Studies (LSI) was created in 1990 and is one of the largest and most highly regarded human development and disabilities research centers in the country.

National Organization for Rare Disorders
NORD is a non-profit organization. Search the largest database of understandable information on over 1,100 diseases and rare disorders. Search the comprehensive database of information on foundations, organizations, agencies, and support groups that assist people who have rare disorders. Also included is information on medical assistance programs and a used medical equipment exchange program.
Federation for Children with Special Needs
The Federation for Children with Special Needs is a nonprofit organization based on the philosophy of parents helping parents. The web site contains information on community outreach and empowerment, a family resource directory and a parent corner, as well as a variety of other information.
Institute for Human Development, UMKC, a University Affiliated Program
The UMKC Institute for Human Development is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people of all ages with developmental disabilities and their families.
Library Spot
This web site has won numerous awards and is a valuable source of information on almost anything. It includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, medical information, links to other libraries, genealogy, congressional links, and many other research resources.
Center for Innovations in Education (CISE)
CISE is a collaborative program of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Education. CISE operates a library specializing in the education of diverse learners and covering a range of topics including inclusion, classroom strategies, disabilities, transition to adult life, autism. Presently, the library has over 9,000 books, videotapes, and other professional development resources. Materials in their online catalog can be borrowed by calling or emailing CISE with the request.

First Steps
The First Steps Program is Missouri's early intervention program for eligible children who have developmental disabilities and are age birth to three years. There may be a cost to the family, depending on income. Referrals can be made by families, doctors, friends, educators, etc. Contact the System Point of Entry (SPOE) to access the First Steps Program. The toll free number is 1-800-811-1127, option 9.
